UK Newspaper Wants To Host Blogs

By Neville Hobson

"We're looking for people who want to keep a blog or online diary for the News & Star website"...

...says Nick Turner, deputy editor of the Cumbria News & Star newspaper in northwest England.

In a report on Thursday, Turner said, "We would like to have a diverse range of voices on our website and offering to host blogs in this way will give people the chance to have their own corner of our website where they can let off steam or record their lives."

Yet another example of how mainstream media is making the right moves in finding innovative ways to engage with its readership. While this example is a regional newspaper in England - and the journalist driving the initiative clearly gets it, wherever he happens to be - it could equally be any newspaper, anywhere.
